Emirates invests in Cabin Crew with new Apple products

Emirates, one of the world’s leading airlines, is known for its commitment to innovation and excellence. In its latest move to transform inflight services, the airline has deployed 20,000 Apple products to its Cabin Crew.

The new initiative, called “One Device”, will see all 20,000 Emirates Cabin Crew members equipped with either an iPhone 13 or an iPad Air. The devices will be pre-configured with custom Emirates apps that have been designed to improve and streamline passenger service onboard, as well as to enhance the overall crew experience.

Emirates has invested more than AED 32 million (over US$ 8.7 million) into the “One Device” initiative, and began giving out Apple devices to Cabin Crew members one year ago. Today, more than 7,000 Emirates crew members use iPhones across 450 daily flights in the global network. In the coming months, an additional 5,000 cabin crew will receive iPhones and iPads featuring new apps and features that build on the successful deployment.

The custom Emirates apps that have been developed for the “One Device” initiative include:

  • CrewBrief: A mobile app that provides Cabin Crew members with real-time flight information, passenger manifests, and other essential operational data.
  • Customer Service App: A mobile app that allows Cabin Crew members to access passenger information, view meal preferences, and handle requests more efficiently.
  • Inflight Sales App: A mobile app that enables Cabin Crew members to process inflight sales and payments quickly and easily.
  • CrewPortal: A mobile app that provides Cabin Crew members with access to company resources and information, such as training materials, policies, and procedures.

The “One Device” initiative is expected to have a significant impact on both the passenger and crew experience onboard Emirates flights. For passengers, the initiative will mean faster and more efficient service, as well as more personalized attention from Cabin Crew members.
